Voters and Electoral Rolls

3. To collect and updateElectoral Rolls:

(1) The Commission shall, underits direct inspection, control, supervision and direction, carry out the act ofcollection and updating of the Electoral Rolls of the voters in the Wards ofthe Village Development Committees and Municipalities of every electionconstituency as prescribed.

(2)  While collecting orupdating the Electoral Rolls pursuant to sub-section (1), the then ElectoralRolls shall be published in the concerned Ward of the concerned VillageDevelopment Committee or the Municipality.

(3)  While collecting orupdating the Electoral Rolls pursuant to sub-section (1), the Commission shallpublish a notice on the matter pertaining to program of the same in the NepalGazette for information of the general public.

(4)  While collecting orupdating the Electoral Rolls pursuant to sub-section (1), the Commission mayfix the time in a manner that such collection or updating shall be made at thesame time or at several times or at one time or at different times.

Provided that while collecting orupdating the Electoral Rolls of one Village Development Committee or oneparticular Ward of a Municipality, it shall be done at the same time.

4.Name Registration Officer:

(1)The Commission may appoint or designate one Chief Name Registration Officer andName Registration Officer and Assistant Name Registration Officer as requiredin each district to collect names and other necessary details of voters, toprepare and update Electoral Rolls and carry out all other acts as required inthat respect.
