ChapterII: The President of Romania

Article95: Suspension from Office

(1)In case of having committed grave acts infringing upon constitutionalprovisions, the President of Romania may be suspended from office by theChamber of Deputies and the Senate, in joint sitting, by a majority vote ofDeputies and Senators, and after consultation with the Constitutional Court.The President may explain before Parliament with regard to imputations broughtagainst him.

(2) Theproposal of suspension from office may be initiated by at least one third ofthe number of Deputies and Senators, and the President shall be immediatelynotified thereof.

(3) If theproposal of suspension from office has been approved, a referendum shall be held within 30 days,in order to remove the President from office.

Title VII: Revision of the Constitution

Article 150

(1)Revision of the Constitution may be initiated by the President of Romania onthe proposal of the Government, by at least one quarter of the number ofDeputies or Senators, as well as by at least 500,000 citizens with the right tovote.

Article151

(1)The draft or proposal of revision must be adopted by the Chamber of Deputiesand the Senate, by a majority of at least two thirds of the members of eachChamber.

(3) The revision shall be finalafter the approval by a referendum held within 30 days of the date of passingthe draft or proposal of revision.

Article 6

(1) Iniţiativa şi procedura revizuirii Constituţiei sunt supuse normelorprevăzute la art. 146 şi 147 din Constituţie, iar organizarea şi desfăşurareareferendumului se stabilesc prin lege.

(2) Organizarea şi desfăşurarea referendumului cu privire la revizuireaConstituţiei, precum şi rezultatul acestuia sunt obligatorii.

Article 8. Referendumul pentrudemiterea Preşedintelui Rom?niei este obligatoriu şi se stabileşte prin hotăr?re aParlamentului, ?n condiţiile prevăzute la art. 95 din Constituţie.
