“Voting of Gabonese Abroad
Voting is an important citizen act that you can carry out even abroad. Also it is important to know the conditions of exercise of this right when you are abroad. […]
Which polls does this registration allow to participate?
You cannot vote abroad for all elections. This is only possible when Gabon is a single constituency (with national totalling of results). Once registered on a consular list of electors, you will be able to vote abroad for the election of the President of the Republic and the referendum, but this will depend on:
a) If you are not registered on an electoral list in Gabon, you will be registered only on a consular list of electors: you will therefore vote only abroad and only for the election of the President of the Republic and the referendum
b) If you are already registered on a list of electors in Gabon, as you cannot be registered on two lists to vote for the same election, you will have to choose:
- to vote abroad for the election of the President of the Republic and the referendum and in Gabon for legislative and municipal elections;
- continue to vote in Gabon for all votes.”
No provision was found on specific voting method in the legislation. However, information in the Official Website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs implies that foreign residents vote in the offices of embassies and consulates in person.
