Hobbs is the Finance and Operations Manager for the Asia and the Pacific Regional Programme in Canberra, Ausralia, since 2020.

In 2011, Hobbs left his corporate accounting position in Canberra to pursue a more fulfilling career in the humanitarian sector and has since been fortunate enough to work with NGOs operating throughout regional Australia, Cambodia and Iraq. During those 10 years, he gained a broad range of operational expertise in high-pressure environments, administrating multi-sectoral programmes budgeted up to EUR 15 million annually and controlling the HR function for up to 100 staff.

Hobbs jumped at the opportunity to circle back to his home city of Canberra in 2020 to join International IDEA’s Asia and the Pacific Programme and help further the organization’s mandate in the region.
