Durga Karki

Former Associate Programme Officer

Durga Karki is an Associate Programme Officer in Kathmandu Office, Nepal Programme.

Karki started this position with International IDEA on 1 August 2020. She supports International IDEA's Coherence Programme in preparing research briefs, developing resource materials for local governments, and providing training and backstopping support to new mentors. She also develops concept and scripts to make videos on different aspects of deliberative local governance.

Earlier, she joined International IDEA as a Local Government Mentor in 2018 for Coherence Programme after she graduated in law (BA. LLB.) from Tribhuvan University, Nepal Law Campus. 

Before 2018, Karki worked as a TV presenter and reporter for a kids' news programme produced by Nepal Forum of Environmental Journalists. She also writes columns in national newspapers and online portals and has recently published a collection of short stories; 'Kumari Prashnaharu' (The Virgin Questions).
