Camilo Filártiga-Callizo

Associate Programme Officer

Camilo Filártiga-Callizo is the Associate Programme Officer for Electoral Processes at the International IDEA office in Paraguay.

Camilo is a lawyer with a master's degree in applied political studies, a researcher and a university professor. With more than 15 years of professional experience, Camilo has worked in numerous local organizations to consolidate democracy, connecting civil society with academia. He has also worked in international organizations such as the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Institute for Public Policies on Human Rights (IPPDH-Mercosur) and Electoral Observation Missions of the OAS. His primary skills are analyzing political institutions, constitutional law, electoral regulatory frameworks, and academic writing. Camilo is dedicated to the study of democracy, citizen participation and the rule of law.

He joined the Institute in December 2020.
