
Beatriz Argimón
Beatriz Argimón Cedeira (born August 14, 1961, in Montevideo) is a Uruguayan notary and politician affiliated with the National Party. She served as the 18th Vice President of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay from March 1, 2020, to March 1, 2025, during the presidency of Luis Lacalle Pou, becoming the first woman elected to hold that office.
She previously served as National Representative for the Montevideo Department and was the first woman to chair the National Party Board. From November 2020 to October 2024, she was a member of the Executive Committee of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and served as Vice-President of the IPU in 2022 and 2024, actively promoting democracy and parliamentary cooperation at the international level. She joined the Board of Advisers of International IDEA in May 2025.
