International Climate and Democracy Coalition

In the current geopolitical context, marked by growing polarisation, populism, and disinformation, both climate action and promotion of democracy are under threat. The International Climate and Democracy Coalition (ICDC) is a platform for knowledge exchange, research coordination, policy outreach and joint action, which gathers like-minded organisations active at the intersection of climate change and democracy.

About the coalition

Established in 2025, ICDC makes the strategic case for the Climate-Democracy Nexus and promotes joint research, advocacy and capacity-building initiatives. The Coalition is coordinated by a group of founding members and aims to develop a 'common voice' on climate and democracy, by reaching out to an ever-greater number of research institutions, civil society actors and international organisations.
