Votes are counted at the polling stations, and then hard copies of the tabulation sheets (protocols) are transferred to the District Election Commissions (DECs). These protocols are then validated and tabulated. The results are entered into an electronic system. The preliminary results entered into this electronic system are published on the Central Election Commission (CEC) website in real time.
