The systems for the transmission of results of the TSE are as follows: via internet, using portable computers in 50 polling centres of the Greater Metropolitan Area, where a total of 241 operators received the phone calls from the data-transmission officers (in charge of 3 or more polling tables) and from the electoral auxiliaries at the polling centres with 2 or less polling tables. Two new technologies were used as part of the pilot test: 1. Unstructured Supplementary Service Data, USSD. 2. Interactive Voice Response, IVR. It must be noted that there was no involvement of the operators with these last two transmission methods, which meant the direct recording into the TSE’s databases. Data transmitted to the TSE was displayed periodically in its website, stating the advance in the received results starting at 20:00 of the day of the election until noon next day.
