Statement from the Board of Advisors on International IDEA’s role in Myanmar
Dear Member States,
The Board of Advisers is deeply committed to hallmarks of human rights, inclusivity and diversity which are central to International IDEA’s mission and work. The Board stands behind International IDEA’s decision to withdraw its association from the mVoter2020 App and terminate any promotion. We commend Secretary-General, Kevin Casas-Zamora’s swift response to this issue and his continued commitment to defend and promote democracy. As strategic advisors to International IDEA, we will continue to do our part to promote the benchmarks of inclusiveness, diversity, equality, representation and participation in our own work and that of the organization.
