International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC)

The International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) is the world’s premier global forum for bringing together heads of state, civil society, the private sector and intergovernmental organizations to tackle the increasingly sophisticated challenges posed by corruption.

This year's conference focuses on the theme "Together for Development, Peace and Security: Now is the Time to Act". International IDEA will participate in the conference and present during the session: DigiMeddle – Kidnapping Democracy in the New Digital Age on 24 October 12:00-14:00. The session panelists will discuss the misuse of digital tools and social media with the goal of swaying public opinion and skewing elections.

The objective of this session is to draw attention to recent events, as well as discuss possible ways to tackle the issue and thus reduce corruption-risks in the democratic process. International IDEA in particular will discuss the use of cryptocurrencies to finance politics.
