The Institute of Democracy, Election & Good Governance (a wing of State Election Commission Maharashtra) is organizing a Conference on Local Self Government Elections in Mumbai, India.

The conference will focus on challenges and good practice relating to: ownership of democracy; inclusiveness; social media/fake news; misuse of money and power; and the role of various stakeholders.
The event will be attended by academic institutions, civil society organizations, government institutions, international organizations and election management bodies in charge of administrating local elections.
International IDEA is one of six knowledge partners to the event.
