Risk Management in Elections: Strengthening the Resilience of Electoral Management Bodies

Electoral processes are inherently complex, involving legal, operational, technical, political, security and other processes. While it is impossible to contain all electoal risks, systematic risk management efforts undertaken by electoral management bodies (EMBs) may help in preventing many risks from materializing, as well as assisting EMBs to take more effective actions to mitigate any consequences of negative occurrences. 

This roundtable will bring together senior practitioners, policy makers and academics representing leading organizations and initiatives in the field of electoral processes to share good practices, discuss where to situate electoral risk management within the broader electoral practice and international assistance efforts, and cultivate the community of practice on the topic.
