The State of Democracy (SoD) Assessment Framework has been applied in over 20 countries around the world so far and more and more countries are interested in assessing their democracies from within. This website aims at being a tool for all of you that are interested in assessing your democracy and find an answer to the question of how democratic your country is.
The SoD Assessment is not a country ranking exercise but it will result in greater knowledge about the State of Democracy in the country and identify areas where there are strengths and weaknesses. This can and has been used for democratic reforms in countries and important steps are taken to improve the quality of democracy. Let us not forget that assessing our democracy is an important step to keep improving our democratic societies all over the world.
