Areas of work: The Association of Political Science Students (APSS) is the national assembly of Nepali youths and students who are interested to be involved in study of politics and its educational activities, whether they are currently enrolled in school to university level study or from informal educational background, those who are now under the age of 30. The APSS is working to develop Nepali youths and students capacity for their engagement in national and local level policy influence and process, and creating critical mass of Nepali youth and students towards sustainable peace, democracy and development by stimulating them in careful deliberation of political, social and development issues, and their possible resolutions by exploring their innovative ideas. The APSS is fighting for youth right and their meaningful participation in national policy and programme designing and implementation, by identifying their physical, psychological, social and economic potentialities. Established in 2001, the APSS is non-profit making, non-religious, non-political and inclusive youth organization registered to the Kathmandu District Administration Office (DAO) under the Social Organization Registration Act, and Social Welfare Council Nepal. APSS Members The APSS is the Association of 2,100 members across the country which includes 11-members Central Executive Committee, 26 College Unit Committee and General Members. The APSS is an umbrella organization of 43 local youths' and other marginalized communities' organizations at different districts aiming at reaching at local youths and students to develop APSS programmes and policies, and their effective implementations. The APSS has various cross-cutting disciplines and marginalised group-based networks built on the basis of APSS strategic actions. They are Terai Youth Committee (TYC), Women Youth Network (WYN), Medical Science Students' Network (MSSN), Children Political Forum (CPF), Engineering Students Network (ESN), Karnali Youth Development Committee (KYDC), Indigenous Youth Network (IYN), Dalit Students Committee (DSC) and Youth Network for Tourism Development (YNTD).They are APSS membership-based wings of the APSS which directly involve in APSS policy making, programme designing and implementation. Public & International Relation Development To perform the above-mentioned strategic actions the APSS organizes trainings and advocacy programs, national and international conference, community development and peace building activities, mass media campaigns, research and publications, and builds national and international linkages for sharing knowledge and promoting peace and harmony among youths and students.
