In 2008 International IDEA organized a seminar that reflected on the major ideologies that are present in current Peruvian politics. These include social-christian thought, different forms of socialism, different forms of nationalism, the ideologies of politicians such as Haya de la Torre and Fernando Belaúnde Terry, decentralized perspectives, liberalism and other political beliefs that may help to face the challenges of the twenty-first century.

This report presents the views that represented socialist thought by Rolando Breña Pantoja, Pablo Checa, Ledesma, Marisa Glave Remy, y Sinesio López Jiménez

By publishing these reflections, we hope to disseminate these ideas to political party members and citizens in general since we believe that political thought and ideology are indispensable for a quality democratic life.
