A challenge for democracy - Political Parties in Central America, Panama and the Dominican Republic assesses the current state of and prospects for political parties in Central America and the Dominican Republic. This report presents the findings of a project, documenting and updating citizens’ opinions and political parties leaders´ thinking in Central America with a view to launch a much needed debate about the role and functioning of political parties. The report is published jointly by IDEA, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the General Secretariat of the Organization of American States (OAS), and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
