This book presents short biographies and interviews with the primary presidential candidates in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru as well as material on other leading politicians in those countries.
The aim of these interviews is to build a bridge between the biographies of persons concerned and politics; that is, how the life story of each figure frames their politics and gives them each a different meaning. To that extent it examines politicians and politics from a new perspective that is all the more striking in that the individuals still have a major impact on political developments.
