After more than 6 years of contribution to the South Caucasus region, International IDEA is handing over its responsibilities on 29 February 2008 to the non profit organization Resource Building Institute in Democracy, Governance and Elections (RBI). Founded by the International IDEA Armenia Office team, RBI remains a solid partner of International IDEA: the Institute is providing support to RBI as part of the global strategy in civic and electoral education, resource building and sustainable democracy building. RBI’s mandate is to contribute to sustainable state building and the strengthening of civil society; contributing to the development of resource material in the field of democracy, governance and elections; and build capacity in this field. RBI’s focus is both on Armenia specifically and, more generally at the South Caucasus-Eastern Europe regional level.
