From 5-7 May 2010 a cross regional consultation on the theme of ‘Diversity in Political Participation and Representation’ will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Some 50 people from five regional countries – Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda – along with representative of a number of key African organizations including the African Union (AU) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) will participate in the consultation.
Following the cross-regional meeting (5–6 May) a Sudan consultation day (7 May) will aim to initiate the development of a diversity training curriculum module for use in the context of the IDEA Sudan’s office’s continuing capacity-building work with Sudanese political parties.
The consultation is hosted by the Organization for Social Science Research in Eastern and Southern Africa (OSSREA) and organized by International IDEA in partnership with the Africa Governance, Monitoring and Advocacy Project (AfriMAP).
