On 28–29 April 2010 a Francophone West African regional launch seminar for the recently-published French translation of the International IDEA report Reconciliation and Traditional Justice After Violent Conflict: Learning From African Experiences was held at the Institut de Gorée in Dakar, Senegal.

Speakers at the seminar included the report’s lead author Professor Luc Huyse, International IDEA Board Member Adebayo Olukoshi, Belgian Ambassador Georges Godart and the authors of Sierra Leone, Uganda, Mozambique and Rwanda case studies included in the report.

Around 50 people from eight French-speaking countries of the region including Cote D’Ivoire, Mali, Guinea-Conakry and Togo attended the seminar.

The first regional West African launch of the report was held in Bujumbura, Burundi in December 2009.
