Experience:

Adhy was first exposed to elections when he was appointed as a member of the National 1999 General Election Supervisory Committee by Indonesia’s Supreme Court while he was still attending Law School. His work on elections continued when after graduating, he was offered a position at the then-International Foundation for Election Systems (now IFES, Inc.) Jakarta Field Office. At IFES, Adhy’s responsibilities ranged from assisting and providing advice to IFES consultants to supporting advocacy efforts by domestic NGOs. He also bridged relations of IFES staff and consultants with officials from various state institutions, chiefly the Electoral Commission, the Parliament, and the Ministry of Home Affairs. In April 2005, Adhy moved to Centre for Electoral Reform (CETRO), an NGO based in Jakarta, to become its Deputy Executive Director. This proved to be a very challenging job of juggling between the task of reaching institutional goals as well as the day-to-day management of the organization. After taking an academic break in 2006-2007, Adhy re-entered the professional field as consultants for IFES, Inc., the Partnership for Governance Reform in Indonesia and CETRO.

Education:

Adhy graduated from Universitas Indonesia with a Bachelor of Law degree in 2000. After gaining some professional experience in the democracy and governance field, he pursued the Master of Laws degree at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, and graduated in May 2007.
