Members

The Statutes of International IDEA were revised and adopted by the Council in January 2006 and entered into force as of November 2008. Membership in IDEA is now only open to governments. Current member states are listed below. See more on statutes.

Associate membership was open to international nongovernmental organizations in the previous statutes. The International Press Institute, Parliamentarians for Global Action, Transparency International and the Inter-American Institute for Human Rights discontinued their status as associate members and have become partners.
