Current and Previous Positions: She has been a professor and researcher at the Centre of International Studies of El Colegio de México since 1975 and a member of the National Research System of Mexico since 1994.
Dr Soledad Loaeza has previously worked as the Director of the Centre of International Studies of El Colegio de México (from 1989 – 1993) as well as the elected Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Mexican Academy of Sciences (from 2002 – 2003). She has also held professorships for example at the Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris, Oxford University, Columbia University, London School of Economics and Political Science and Harvard University. She had edited and compiled seven books, several chapters in joint books published in Mexico, USA, France, United Kingdom, Colombia and Argentina, as well as published several articles and reviews in specialized academic journals. Her areas of interest and expertise include political systems and elections.
