Education: After graduating from Pontifical Catholic University in Lima, Ms. Flores earned a master’s degree at the Business Institute of Madrid and finished her doctorate at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
Current and Previous Positions: Ms. Flores is the president of Alianza Electoral Unidad Nacional and is the head attorney for Lourdes Flores Nano Abogados, E.I.R.L., an office she founded that focuses on civil rights and commercial law. Past roles include teaching commercial law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Lima and the University of Lima, as well as council member of the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima twice. In 1990, she was elected as national deputy to the Congress. She was elected as member of the Constituent Democratic Congress in 1993 and re-elected as member of the Congress of the Republic for 1995-2000. In 2001, she ran as the presidential candidate of the Alianza Unidad Nacional. Ms. Flores is a member of the Executive Council of the Inter-American Dialogue, the Christian Democrat Organization of America and the International Christian Democrat Organization.
